Mexican Fans Recover Lost Match Tickets in Natal with Assistance from Brazil’s National Security Force and a Public Servant
Rio de Janeiro (15 June 2014) – A group of 18 Mexicans visiting Brazil will return to their country taking with them an unforgettable memory of Brazil, thanks to the helpful cooperation of 45-year-old public servant Rejane Aquino and members of the National Public Security Force.
A backpack full of tickets for the first two matches of the Mexican national team in Natal and Fortaleza was left in a bus by Mexican fans who are staying at a Ponta Negra hotel on the Natal coast.
The backpack was found by Lucimar Nascimento, who works as a caretaker for Rejane’s mother. The discovery was reported to the police, and with the assistance of the National Public Security Force, the group of Mexicans was located. The backpack also contained several other tickets, credit cards and souvenirs from Brazil. Mexican citizen Erick Tejeda Hernadez, the owner of the backpack, was surprised when the objects were returned. He thanked Rejane and Lucimar for their efforts: the two women even phoned people in Mexico in an attempt to find information that would help them to return the tickets to their owners.
The National Public Security Force is a department of the National Secretariat of Public Security of the Ministry of Justice (Senasp/MJ) that provides support to police teams in the states and the Federation. The Force serves during many operations, including the World Cup.
