Dilma Rousseff and Barack Obama plan to help Haitian society and ratify the confidence in the country's electoral process

President Dilma Rousseff and US President Barack Obama will reaffirm support for the reconstruction of Haiti, a country devastated by an earthquake in January 2010, in a joint statement to be made during the visit of the US Head of State to Brazil, from March 19 to 20. The two Presidents intend to help Haitian society and to ratify confidence in the country's electoral process. On Sunday, March 20, there is the second round of Presidential elections in Haiti.

Brazil's Foreign Minister, Antonio Patriota, said on Thursday (March 17) that the Brazilian government maintains its commitment and engagement with Haiti. Patriota stressed that Brazil's military will remain as part of the country's peacekeeping force, and all the structure required for the reconstruction of areas destroyed by the earthquake will continue to get help from Brazil.
