Programs developed by the Ministry of Sport are taken as a model for other countries in South America

"The Brazilian programs are among the cooperation the Council wants to establish with the countries,” she added. For her, the "Pintando a Liberdade” (Brushstrokes for Freedom) and "Segundo Tempo” (Second Half) are very important projects for the South American neighbors. 

The President of Consude also said that peoples of Latin America received with joy and pride, the choice of Brazil as headquarters for the World Cup in 2014, and the Olympic and Paralympics Games in 2016, by knowing that this is a unique opportunity to lead the region's biggest sporting events on the planet.

Sandra also affirmed that the Council is working closely with the Ministry of Sport to provide all necessary support to the preparation of the World Cup and Olympic Games and, especially, learn with Brazil how to preparing events of this size. 

The Council meeting was part of a series of meetings of international bodies, held from May 2nd  to May 4th , in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to Consuede’s meeting, the sports authorities of 19 Latin American countries are in Brazil for the events of the XI Meeting of the American Council of Sports (Cade) and the XVII Assembly of the Ibero-American Council of Sports (Cid).
