Embratur, the Brazilian Tourism Institute, initiated in August the first digital marketing action on Facebook to promote the country overseas. The campaign was launched last week in London, in a ceremony with the presence of President Dilma Rousseff. Designed exclusively for foreigners, the application helps the user to identify their friends who are more geographically distant, and proposes that get together in Brazil.
For the President of Embratur, Flávio Dino, the Institute's digital communication actions take into account the large amount of tourists that use the internet as a source of information and travel planning. "A survey made among tourists who visited the country in 2010, conducted by the Ministry of Tourism, showed that 30.9% of foreigners who travel to Brazil organize their trip by using the internet”, he said.
New campaign to promote Brazil
During the launch of the campaign for international promotion of Brazil, last Tuesday in London, President Dilma Rousseff emphasized the strategic moment for the international dissemination of Brazil. Embratur's new campaign will invest R$ 50 million by the end of 2014, with the expectation of reaching 1.2 billion people.
The campaign is focused on major sporting events that Brazil will host in the next four years: the 2014 Fifa World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Rio 2016.
Youtube Channel proposes convergence of technologies
Since March, the foreign tourist has a new channel that promotes touristic destinations in Brazil on Youtube. Developed in partnership with Google, the brand channel helps foreign tourists on planning their trips to Brazil interactively, with images, videos and detailed information about what to do in the country.
