Brazil in Numbers
Social Assistance and social security
Social protection network
Six out of ten workers have social security in Brazil. The target is to expand this number and simultaneously develop programs and equipment that serve those who live below socially acceptable levels.
To that end, social policies were unified; income transfer, social assistance, as well as food and nutritional safety policies and programs, direct combat against hunger and malnutrition. Some of these strategic priorities are income transfer programs such as the Bolsa Família Program, the largest of this kind in Brazil.
