Social Security keeps 1.121 service agencies, all over the country, where the citizen can subscribe, clear doubts about social security contribution and ask for benefits as retirement by age, by contribution, by disability, special, pregnancy allowance, funds for death and assistance in commitment to an institution.
The citizen can also make the medico-legal report necessary to ask for disease-allowance or ask for a revision in your benefit. This year, the Social Security started its agencies net expansion plan, that will promote the building of 720 units in cities with more than 20 thousand inhabitants until the end of 2010.
The rebuilding and the modernization of the agencies already working are also expected. The total investment is of R$ 575,1 millions. With the expansion plan, the number of Agencies from Social Security (APS, in Portuguese) will raise to 1.841 unities, in 1.670 Brazilian cities.
Besides its agencies net, Social Security keeps 69 cars and three boats to serve localities that still don’t have unities. The cars and the boats are adapted and connected to the Dataprev system (Company of Technology and Information from Social Security) via satellite, which allows them to give the communities the same services given in APS.
PrevBoat serves rural, extractivist, streaming, indian and quilombola communities in the states of Pará and Rondônia. Through an agreement firmed with the state government, Social Security also renders services through the mobile floating unit to communities in Amazonas.
