Rio de Janeiro (22 June 2014) – The Brazilian Federal Police would like to inform that 56 of the 85 Chilean fans who were notified to leave Brazil on Wednesday (18 June) have already left the country. A Bolivian citizen who was also involved in the episode has already left Brazil as well.

In case they fail to comply with the notification received, the remaining foreign fans will be subject to summary deportation by the Brazilian Federal Police. The decision is grounded in the provisions of Brazil’s Foreigner’s Statute (Estatuto do Estrangeiro).

Deportation
Each of the Chilean fans involved in the Maracanã break-in has had an entry added to their travel document used to enter Brazil. Any public agent who approaches these notified fans and verifies their documentation may refer them to the Brazilian Federal Police, who will proceed to take the appropriate measures.

The remaining Chileans who did not leave Brazil after the 72-hour deadline are now considered to be illegally present in the country.
