Rio de Janeiro (June 17 2014) – The Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM) and the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel) offers during the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 a special digital pass to media professionals accredited either by the João Saldanha Open Media Centre (CAM) in Rio de Janeiro or by FIFA.

This press card grants free access to 27 museums in nine Brazilian cities, special gifts and discount prices in 132 restaurants located in all 12 host cities. The pass will be valid until 15 July 2014.

The initiative provides domestic and international press with the opportunity to discover Brazilian culture through its diverse flavors, colors and shapes.

Accredited media professionals will receive the press card by email, along with a list of accredited partners and contacts. Journalists should present the card in print or in digital format (from smartphones or tablets), presenting it along with the OMC or FIFA photo credential.

According to CEO of Abrasel, Paulo Solmucci Junior, the partnership is a positive showcase for Brazilian cuisine.

“Abrasel and the Ministry of Culture are committed to welcoming all tourists and media professionals traveling to Brazil for the World Cup. Bars and restaurants are prepared to welcome foreign journalists, and this will be both a great opportunity to strengthen our image as good hosts and an excellent showcase for Brazilian cuisine, so rich in all its flavors and aromas," he says.
